In partnership with leading car manufacturers, Britax Römer has developed the new KIDFIX i-SIZE, homologated under the UN R129 standard, better known as i-Size. Suitable from 100 to 150 cm in height, this highback booster is equipped with the fourth SecureGuard contact/anchor point and the XP-PAD pad, to protect the child from a frontal impact, while the redesigned SICT system offers a greater protection in the event of a side collision. And all this combined with a redesigned seat area to offer an optimal response in case of impact and air ventilation holes in the shell for greater comfort during the trip.

Designs

Optimized seating area

Working in close partnership with leading car manufacturers, the seating area has been redesigned to help reduce the neck loads by up to 10%, according to internal tests run by Britax Römer with a Q10 dummy, representing a 10-year-old child. years.

SICT redesigned

The new SICT system offers improved protection in the event of a side collision. The KIDFIX i-SIZE has a removable element, adjustable in two positions, which is placed on the side of the backrest closest to the door to minimize the distance between the vehicle and the car seat. According to Britax Römer’s internal tests, the SICT technology reduces the side impact forces by up to 40%, deforming to absorb energy before it reaches the child.

XP-PAD

The KIDFIX i-SIZE features XP-PAD, a pad that covers the diagonal section of the seat belt and protects the child's neck and chest in the event of a collision or sudden braking.

According to tests carried run by the manufacturer in 2019, this shock-absorbing pad diverts up to 30% of the energy from the child's delicate neck and prevents cervical hyperflexion by reducing head movement. In addition, it provides comfortable padding around the edges of the seat belt.

It is the redesigned XP-PAD that the KIDFIX III S released, which was optimized to allow an easier installation, better seat belt retraction, greater comfort for the child and a more modern design, maintaining the same safety behavior in in the event of a frontal impact.

SecureGuard

The proven SecureGuard helps to protect your child's delicate abdominal area by adding an extra fourth contact point to the 3-point seat belt. By keeping the lap belt in an optimal position over your child’s pelvic bones SecureGuard helps reduce abdominal forces in the event of a frontal collision by up to 35 %*, and at the same time allows your child freedom of movement during the journey.

Easy adjustable, ergonomic headrest

The headrest has been specifically designed to offer maximum comfort for children and can easily be adjusted to the correct position (there should be a distance of two fingers between the shoulders and the headrest).

Helpful markings at the back of the headrest guide parents to find the right headrest height every single time when they change the seat between cars or transport multiple children in the same seat.

Air ventilation

To keep the child comfortable even for/on long journeys, the shell has carefully placed air ventilation holes to ensure greater air circulation.

Installation with Isofix or seat belt

The KIDFIX i-SIZE offers two installation options:
- Isofix and three-point seat belt
- Vehicle's three-point seat belt

Removable cover

It is easy for the car seat to get messy: a drink can spill or the child may get car sick. That's why we have designed a seat cover that can easily be removed and machine washed.
